Design Features

The new car adopts a new design language and has a wheelbase of 2800mm. It is expected to be positioned as a B-class sedan and will provide both plug-in hybrid and pure electric power.

Appearance design

The front grille of the new car adopts a wing-shaped layout design, with the Wuling logo as the center and radiating outward with flexible wings; the star-colored light group runs horizontally through the star-ring daytime running lights and gradually extends diagonally.

The new car is equipped with automatic headlights, full LED lens light source combined with high beam assist and steering assist functions, with an illumination width spanning 6 lanes and a distance greater than 170m. The light brightness and illumination distance are increased by 25%. The corner lights automatically light up when turning, expanding the illumination width by nearly 2 times the original.

From the side of the body, we can see that Wuling Xingguang adopts a diving front design with an extra-long sloping back; the lightning-shaped body is decorated with circular window frame bright strips and is equipped with 18-inch Xingxuan wheels and 6‰ low rolling resistance tires.

From the rear, Wuling Starlight adopts a through-type “star ring taillight”, which is consistent with the design of the daytime running lights in the front of the car.

In terms of appearance, it can be seen that the new car adopts a brand-new design language, which is different from the Wuling Xingyun that will be unveiled soon. At the same time, two exterior designs are provided according to different power. Among them, the plug-in hybrid version is equipped with a closed grille, a mesh heat dissipation opening at the bottom, a through-type light strip and LED headlight group, which has a high sense of hierarchy and recognition as a whole.

The pure electric version uses a fully enclosed grille design, which is more in line with its own positioning style. At the same time, there is a chrome trim design under the bumper, which adds a sense of refinement to the new car. The difference is that although this car also uses a split headlight group, it is not equipped with a through-type light strip. At the same time, the details of the light groups on both sides have also been adjusted, which is quite different from the plug-in hybrid version.

From the side, the new car adopts a fastback design, with semi-hidden door handles, 18-inch five-spoke wheels, etc., which adds a bit of sportiness to the new car. In addition, the official also provides petal-shaped wheels as an option. In terms of body size, the length, width and height of the car are 4835/1860/1515mm respectively. , the wheelbase is 2800mm.

Interior information

The new car offers two interiors: dark black and quicksand color matching, and introduces a “home theater” cockpit. The car also adopts a unique “recliner” design: the front seats can be folded back 180 degrees and can be flush with the rear seat cushions, creating a recliner-like effect. In addition, the longest leg space in the rear of the car can reach 1 meter.

    

In terms of storage space, the new car’s trunk provides a large space of 540 liters, which can accommodate two 24-inch and two 20-inch suitcases. There is also a 33L hidden storage compartment under the carpet. In addition, the car has more than 14 storage spaces, and the armrest box adopts a duplex double-layer structure.

In terms of seats, the new car is equipped with “encircling and stress-relieving” seats with comprehensive ergonomic design. The area where the seats fit the human body is 110,000 square millimeters, and the driver’s seat is standardly equipped with 6-way electric adjustment.

Intelligent and comfortable configurations include one-touch window lifting, heated and electric folding rearview mirrors, remote vehicle control, keyless entry and one-touch start, LED automatic headlights and other functions. The new car is equipped with a combination of a 15.6-inch smart central control screen + an 8.8-inch LED instrument screen. The Ling OS system has built-in social entertainment apps such as iQiyi and QQ Music. In addition, the new car has two USB ports in the front and rear rows, with a maximum charging power of 20W, and 6 air outlets in the rear seats. There are 14 storage spaces throughout the car, equipped with dual-layer automatic air conditioning, rear air outlets, ISOFIX child safety seat interfaces and other configurations.

 

Power parameters

In terms of power, the new car will provide two power options: plug-in hybrid and pure electric. The plug-in hybrid version will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L engine + motor, and its engine has a maximum power of 78kW; while the pure electric version will be equipped with a drive motor with a maximum power of 100kW.

Wuling Xingguang has achieved an ultra-low wind resistance of 0.228cd and a WLTC standard comprehensive fuel consumption of 3.98L/100km through Wuling Lingxi hybrid system, ultra-high electric drive efficiency and vehicle lightweight optimization on a new new energy architecture. At normal temperature, fast charging from 30%-80% only takes 30 minutes.

In terms of transmission, the new car uses an electromagnetic DHT hybrid-specific gearbox, and the acceleration process is very smooth.

Based on the new native new energy architecture, the Wuling Starlight chassis is equipped with McPherson independent front suspension and E-type multi-link independent rear suspension; the new car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, and is equipped with a second-generation electromagnetic hybrid dedicated gearbox. After precise speed regulation, it is smooth and has no setbacks at all speeds, and can achieve a rapid response of 0.1 seconds.

Security Configuration

Wuling Xingguang’s high-strength steel accounts for as much as 76.4%, covering the A/B/C pillars and the two side door frames, and key protection parts use hot-formed steel with a strength of over 1500 MPa. Wuling Xingguang’s chassis adopts a three-horizontal and three-vertical hot-formed ultra-high-strength steel structure design, which effectively improves the deformation resistance of the battery and passenger compartment. It is also equipped with auxiliary configurations such as ESC electronic body stability system, AUTO HOLD automatic parking, 360 high-definition panoramic imaging, and cruise control to ensure users’ safe travel.

Wuling Xingguang has designed an energy absorption zone for the side impact battery and carried out ultra-high standard electric safety collision tests, making the vehicle-battery integration safer. In terms of battery safety, the Shenlian battery carried by Wuling Xingguang is equipped with the battery cell “top technology”, which does not leak, catch fire, or explode; it adopts the MUST structure to achieve high integration, high strength, thermal management and other multi-functions in one, and is equipped with the vehicle-side + cloud-side dual BMS intelligent collaboration, all-weather safety inspection. Shenlian batteries can realize the maintenance and replacement of a single battery cell, saving users 90% of maintenance costs.
